Friday - Saturday 25th and 26th August.

Pete and I went after work on the bank holiday weekend for a fishing session at broadlands lakes.

Got there about 6.30pm (gates shut at 7pm) and had the tent up and rods in ( new halibut pellets bought today! 14mm ) the water by about 7pm ish.

Fished up until about 1-30pm (aided by a few cans and some sausages, burgers and crisps ) when the rain came down.  Now in the past we may of left the bait in the water and dozed on the hope of catching something in the early hours, however the previous week had been hectic at work for both of us so we just packed up for the night and resumed fishing about 10am.

I omitted to mention during the fishing the previous night I caught the most massive eel I have ever landed ( at a guess 3lb ) as I unhooked it in the water.  Not sure whether this is a good or bad thing, don't like catching them but it was big!

Pete had several bites but no stickers and despite some recasts to various places ( near the lilleys, middle of the lake, margins etc I had no further bites.  Left about 6pm to go for a well needed wash etc.

Good weekend though.
