Sorry I've never fished Bisterne so cannot help with specific info.  What I wld say is that generally the Avon is low and weed choked, although in this week's Anglers Mail Andy Little says the Royalty stretch is fishing its head off.

Anyway bon chance mon brave - I 've got my eye on the Fordingbridge day ticket section for later in the season.  Here's hoping eh.

Fished Bisterne for the first time 25/9/05. Day ticket is £8, which you put in an envelope with your name and car reg on and post through the door of the cottage. you can drive through the field and park by your swim. The down side is I did'nt see a decent fish all day, lots of weed.

Ian

I'd describe myself as a pleasure angler and I cannot see much pleasure in fishing the Avon at the moment. Too low too weedy.  We need some rain to give it some flow and to gouge the weed out!  Based on the angling press though some people are persevering and catching decent fish from the Avon.  Obviously they are better and more determined anglers than me and I salute them.

Happy blanking

Gary
