I fish sopley lake every now and again and Ive heard that story a number of times but have never seen/heard of any funny going ons!

To be fair its not the best of lakes if you are looking for a big carp but can can pull out a few tench and bream!

The best method to use for general fishing is hookable pellets. This usually brings a few small carp, tench and bream to the net!

If you are targeting carp then I would suggest trying to catch them off the top with the old favourite dog biscuit.

I popped down for a couple of hours last weekend and had a number of carp off the top with the biggest being around 12lbs...not massive but great on light tackle.

Its a lake where you have to work hard if you are looking to catch something big.  Alot of people sit back behind bite alarms all day which is something I normally do but I found if you put the time and effort into moving around you will soon find the better fish!

As for the ghost try not to worry!...ive always found him very friendly! haha
