Sopley Lake 12-6pm

Pete and I had a day off work, and decided on the first lake fishing trip of the year.  After a short debate on which venue to visit we decided to go to our most successful lake venue of 2003, Sopley Lake.

We stocked up on some fresh halibut pellets and arrived at lunch time.  As is not unusual for this lake it was quiet, with only 2 other anglers on the lake.  The weather while not cold still had that wintery feel to it when the sun disappeared behind the clouds, but was starting to feel more like spring when it did shine down.

We both used hair rigged halibut pellets, with a PVA bag.  A tactic that has been worthwhile here before.  However as with my first sea fishing trip of 2004 it end with no fish on the bank.  In fact not a bite in all 6 hours.  There is still fish in the lake, the other 2 anglers catching 3 fish while we were there.

Still, much better than work.
