Christchurch Angling Club - Open Day

CAC Open Day is on 19th August at Somerley Lakes

Each year Christchurch Angling Club host an open day at the Somerley Lakes near Ringwood. The day is free to all and gives everybody the chance to try out and learn about all types of fishing.
On the King Vincents lake you can have a go at coarse fishing where the tackle, bait and guidance are provided.
In the adjacent fields, rinks are set up for the various casting techniques including single handed and double handed fly casting and sea casting. This year we also have laser clay pigeon shooting (fee payable)
All the tuition will be performed under the guidance of fully qualified coaches, to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all.
The Marquees house many exibitions concentrating of the welfare and maintenance of the habitat with representatives from The Environment Agency, Wessex Rivers Salmon Trust, The Barbel Society and others. Other stalls and events include the Fly tiers Guild where you can have a go at tiying you own fly and Stormkloth where you can get that waterproof clothing the british summer now requires.

Directions:

The entrance to Somerly lakes and the open day is on the A338 between Ringwood and Fordingbridge. The entrance is shared with Tarmac Ltd, however, BEFORE entering the Tarmac site the track to the left takes you to the lakes. From Ringwood, head north on the A338 for approximatley 1.2 miles and the entrance is on your left, look out for the signs on the side of the road.
