Throop Beat 2 3pm-7pm
After an afternoons painting fell through we visited Throops beat 2, entering by the school bridge. Pete suggested fishing right by the bridge, which in hindsight would of been a good idea.
I had remembered fishing on the nearside just opposite the weed boom, a few years ago in the shade of a tree. So we walked up to there only to find it was completely overgrown now with large man high nettles. We eventually walked about half way back to about the only other decent swim than the bridge on the nearside bank of this stretch between the boom and the bridge. I'd recommend the far bank if you're going to fish this stretch as there's more swims on that side.

This afternoon proved to be a blank for me, for which I blame Pete for constantly casting about 7 times each cast out before being satisfied with the lie of the cast being near the fish he saw jump. It came as no suprise when ( I'd same the same fish ) then jumped a short while later a few yards away from his rod and the same mis-casting fiasco took place!
