Fished 1.30 - 6.15 pm

Well it has been a while but I went fishing again on the day of the FA Cup Final between Liverpool and West Ham Utd, almost 6 months into the year.  Now whilst never normally being anything but a "fair weather" fisherman, this usually means the temperatures are bearable at least in April.  This year time and other commitments had seen a delay in getting to the bank....

The RDAA lake was fairly busy, but not overly so and being Sopley, you have a large space around you to chuck the line in without having to worry about being overly acurate in the cast  and this also allowed me and Pete to tune in the radio to 5 live to listen to the match whilst we hauled in fish.

I used hair rigged pellet, and Pete went for a boilie approach.  Now I mentioned early hauling in fish.  Well I hauled in the bait a few times and Pete hauled in when a floating tree trunk came near the line...and as far as I could see this was the case with the other 10 or so anglers at the venue.  I can confirm that there are still carp in there though as I saw several.  Obviously they must of been too interested in the Cup Final as well to bother to feed.

On the plus side, I did see several young ducklings and goslings on the lake, and it was good to get back to the bank after a long break.
