Thursday 6th July 7.30-10pm

Fished after work with Pete at pipe bridge in Throops beat 3.  The weather had cooled down thanks to some downpours the previous day and in the afternoon, making the path a little muddy.

The weather was still fairly warm and humid from the rain, but not so oppressive and can often find these types of nights good for fishing.

It looked like Pete was going to break his blank fish run, when about 8.20 his line was pulled on a good run.  Unfortunately after a short struggle it was an eel ( though a fair size one of about 1.5 pounds).  The pull and short fight being most un-eel like in our experience.

No further joy till close.  One other thing of note, first time in evenings have seen an another angler on this stretch at all, fishing near the willow tree.
